In the 1930's, Shell constructed a series of gas stations that looked like clamshells, modeled after their company logo. Originally built in 1930, the station on the corner of Sprague and Peachtree is the last remaining clamshell gas station in the United States. This unique structure stands as a local icon of creative architecture.
